WHY: In celebration of the Environment Month in June, we are excited for this sports event that works towards creating a greener and more sustainable future for all of us.
With this event, we are supporting the tree-growing advocacy in Marilog, in partnership with the Matigsalug Tribe and Ridge to Reef, Inc.
This advocacy has been working tirelessly since 2019 to plant and nurture trees in Marilog, Davao City. So far, we have already planted 3,600 trees, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. But we can’t do this alone! At the end of this year we are targetting to plant additional 1,500 trees.
By supporting the tree-growing advocacy in Marilog, we are not only protecting the environment but also preserving the cultural heritage of the Matigsalug Tribe. Their traditional knowledge and practices in planting and nurturing trees can serve as a valuable lesson for us in sustainable living.
This initiative also serves as a beacon of hope amidst the growing concerns over climate change and environmental degradation. It shows that by working together and supporting each other, we can make a difference in protecting the environment and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
